
Code School Finland and Penang Science Cluster (PSC) co-operate to offer programming courses for Malaysian students. Co-operation kicks off online due to the Covid-19 school closures in Malaysia. Code School Finland teachers hold classes online from Finland and PSC students participate online from Malaysia. PSC teachers monitor the classes and learn about Code School Finland coding education pedagogy.
Penang Science Cluster is a non-profit organisation with a mission to build a healthy pipeline of talent in Malaysia by sparking interest in science and technology, creating a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the young. PSC runs a variety of programs with schools in Malaysia and supports school teachers’ professional development by offering teacher training for STEAM topics. With Code School Finland, middle school students learn basics of textual programming and practice working life skills in a fun and innovative way. In addition students develop their computational thinking, promote using good programming habits, establish fluent work routines and pursue an entrepreneurial attitude.
