The World Economic Forum has recently published its Education 4.0 Framework for the skills of the 21st century. It outlines a comprehensive set of skills, attitudes, and values modern education needs to equip and prepare young learners for a successful life in the economies of the future. We are Code School Finland are glad to see the publication, not because it gives us an impetus to do anything new, but because it reaffirms the importance of what we are already doing.

Code School Finland’s AI Curriculum, published in 2019, aligns with the principles of the Education 4.0 with surprising precision. We have been promoting problem-based and student-centred learning with dozens of schools around the globe.

    The Education 4.0 Taxonomy

The fundamental premise of Education 4.0 is that problem solving, being an abstract aptitude, should be taught through developing and applying a particular competency. Solving a challenge from everyday life is a much sounder way of mastering problem solving as opposed to studying it as a subjects in its own right.

The same principal lies at the core of Code School Finland’s pedagogical approach. We have been working for years with teachers around the globe training them to teach digital skills in a project-based way.

Implement Education 4.0 at your school

The framework is of tremendous value to governments and big decision makers, but it is not their preserve. Any school can make a decisive step with a plan and practical strategy towards project-based digital skills education:

Teachease is a package for schools that we have recently developed as a result of years of work with schools and teachers. It packages everything a school needs to implement a project-based digital skills curriculum: a plan, teacher training, study materials, and ongoing support.

Request a free, non-binding Teachease plan:
a customised product proposal for your school

    1) Answer a few questions about your school and your vision for digital skills education

    2) We will align your vision with relevant Teachease modules and put together a plan.

    3) We will send you a plan with an explanation of practicalities within 5 working days.
